NHS COVID-19 APP: Get Your Business Ready for 24th September

September 22, 2020

By Thursday 24th September all premises in Staffordshire must clearly display an NHS QR poster as this is now a legal requirement.

Businesses such as pubs, restaurants, hairdressers, cinemas and other venues are being urged to download QR codes to prepare for the public rollout of the new app on 24th September. Business also need to ensure they have NHS QR code posters visible on entry, so customers who have downloaded the new NHS COVID-19 app can use their smartphones to easily check-in.

QR codes will be an important way for NHS Test and Trace to contact multiple people if Coronavirus outbreaks are identified in venues. Scanning QR codes by using the NHS COVID-19 app will help businesses in England to meet the new legal requirement to record the contact details of customers, visitors and staff on their premises.

To support businesses and venues in displaying QR codes, the government have created a service where businesses can create their own QR code poster at https://www.gov.uk/create-coronavirus-qr-poster .
