The AMRICC Centre: Where Innovation Becomes Reality
April 15, 2025
The AMRICC Centre is not just a research facility – it’s a gateway to the future of materials science. As a unique, open-access international hub, partly funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) through the Strength in Places Fund, AMRICC is dedicated to transforming bold ideas into real-world solutions. Here, cutting-edge technologies, groundbreaking processes, and revolutionary materials move beyond theory and into commercial reality, accelerating innovation like never before.
If you’re facing a complex materials challenge, considering trialling a new product or process, or simply eager to get hands-on with the next generation of advanced ceramics, The AMRICC Centre is the place where breakthroughs happen. With capabilities that span the entire manufacturing process, from powder processing and forming to sintering and testing, our facility in Stone, UK, is designed to push the boundaries of what’s possible. We work at extremes – sintering at temperatures up to 3000°C, cryogenics down to -196°C, mechanical testing at 1650°C, and microscopy at an astonishing 2,000,000x magnification. Whether processes need to be performed in a vacuum or in controlled atmospheres like argon, we provide the ideal environment to explore, refine, and perfect new technologies. And with the world’s only pilot-scale Flash/Field Enhanced Sintering technology development facility, we offer capabilities that can’t be found anywhere else.
What makes AMRICC truly exceptional is not just its state-of-the-art equipment, but the way it empowers businesses and researchers to innovate without disruption. Here, you can develop new formulations, test processes, and optimise production techniques in parallel to your existing operations – no downtime, no lost productivity, just pure innovation. Whether working in complete privacy within our Open Access facility or drawing on the vast expertise of Lucideon and our team of materials scientists, you gain access to decades of knowledge and experience in materials and process development.
As the UK’s only Centre of Excellence for Advanced Ceramics, The AMRICC Centre is leading the way in redefining what’s possible. This is where science meets industry, where ideas become reality, and where the future of materials technology is being shaped today. If you’re ready to break new ground, we’re ready to help you make it happen.
