Big Buyers Brunch in South Staffs hailed a success

Almost 100 businesses from Staffordshire attended the first of three Meet the Buyer events, designed to connect buyers and suppliers across the county.
‘The Big Buyers Brunch: A South Staffordshire Supplier Special’ was held at the Moat House in Acton Trussell to offer SMEs an overview of current and upcoming regeneration projects in the area, as well as networking opportunities with contractors and developers.
Delegates heard presentations from companies including Logistic Capital Partners in conjunction with winvic, Henry Brothers and Galliford Try plc, who are working in the region on high profile schemes including the West Midlands Interchange and Beacon Barracks Stafford.
The Growth Hub, FinditinStokeandStaffs and Staffordshire County Council hosted the event in partnership with South Staffordshire Business Partnership and South Staffordshire District Council.
Growth Hub Manager Rachel Wood said: “It was great to see 96 Staffordshire businesses meeting major developers and principal contractors and hearing about the opportunities in our area that they can apply for.
“There has never been a better time to look at how you can grow your business with so much going on over the next few years.
“Events like this raise the profile of the contracts available and companies are invited to take advantage of this work.”
Annette Roberts, Corporate Director of Place and Communities at South Staffordshire District Council, said: “The aim of the event was to make sure we can connect bigger companies with local businesses to secure more opportunities and investment across the district.
“It’s been great to meet some of the smaller businesses who are here have those conversations and make those connections.”
‘The Big Buyers Brunch: A South Staffordshire Supplier Special’ will be followed by two further Meet the Buyer events in Stoke-on-Trent on 27 November and Tamworth in early 2025.
