Free Cyber Support with WMCRC

July 21, 2025

The West Midlands Cyber Resilience Centre (WMCRC) is offering a free opportunity that could benefit small and medium-sized businesses across Staffordshire. Businesses can sign up for a free core membership on their website, which includes a 30-minute consultation with their Head of Cyber and Innovation.

This consultation is a chance to get tailored advice on your organisation’s cyber security, no matter your current level of knowledge or confidence. The centre’s Head of Cyber and Innovation – who has a background in policing – brings real-world experience and practical insight to these reviews, making the session particularly valuable for businesses looking to understand where they stand and how to strengthen their defences.

Alongside the consultation, members get access to a range of resources and tools designed to help organisations build cyber resilience. The advice is based on official guidance from the National Cyber Security Centre and is tailored to the needs of SMEs, microbusinesses and sole traders.

The WMCRC recently spoke at an event I attended, and it was clear how committed they are to supporting businesses across the region. The service is entirely free to join, and signing up is quick and straightforward via their website.

If you’re based in Stoke-on-Trent or Staffordshire and haven’t yet explored this offer, it’s worth taking a look. It’s a practical and informed first step towards protecting your business from cyber threats.
