Growth Hub offers support to those affected by Carillion liquidation

The Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Growth Hub is offering support to businesses and employees affected by the recent liquidation of construction and services company Carillion.
The company, which employed around 20,000 people in the UK and 43,000 globally, had its headquarters in Wolverhampton and a supply chain throughout the Midlands region.
Following Carillion’s liquidation, concerns have been raised regarding issues including job losses, impact on pensions, loss of contracts, delayed payments and the potential consequences for a wide range of small businesses that Carillion worked with.
Chris Plant, Growth Hub manager, said: “The liquidation of Carillion is terrible news and brings with it a period of great uncertainty. This will be a difficult time for employees, contractors and businesses that worked with Carillion.
“The Growth Hub is committed to supporting those affected, working alongside Chambers throughout the Midlands region and beyond.
“The Chambers of Commerce also provide training in procurement, contracting and negotiations that will support businesses coming to terms with this situation. We can also offer access to our wide membership to identify job vacancies and training opportunities that may be available, alongside a fast-track business start-up training programme for people considering self-employment.”
