Supplier special to support Burton businesses

A Big Buyers Brunch event, designed to boost business by bringing together buyers and suppliers across the food, drink and hospitality sector, will take place in Burton-upon-Trent this month.
Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Growth Hub, FinditinStokeandStaffs and Staffordshire County Council are hosting the free brunch in partnership with East Staffordshire Borough Council (ESBC).
A Taste of East Staffordshire: Food, Drink & The Visitor Economy BIG Buyers Brunch is the latest ‘Meet the Buyer’ opportunity planned for suppliers and businesses based in Staffordshire.
The event taps into some of the region’s most powerful attractions, such as Burton’s flagship regeneration scheme, the Old Brewery Quarter as well as wider strategies such as Destination Staffordshire’s 2023–2026 Tourism Strategy and Visitor Economy Action Plan.
A short programme of presentations will cover key topics including the East Staffordshire Place Strategy, support for the food and drink sector as well as international trade support for manufacturing, skills, development and recruitment and a look at past, present and future developments with ESBC.
Delegates will also hear from Senior Buyer at Pentagon Group, Avtar Sandhu and Head of Procurement at University of Staffordshire, Liz Salter.
Growth Hub Manager Rachel Wood, who will also be speaking at the brunch, said: “We are delighted to be bringing this special event to Burton thanks to the hard work and collaboration of our team and our partners.
“It is the latest event in our series of Meet the Buyer sessions, offering businesses the chance to hear from experts in their sectors and we’ll be announcing even more speakers in the coming weeks.
“Delegates will be able to browse the buyer ‘marketplace,’ where they can discover new opportunities and forge new connections.

The Big Buyers Brunch: A Burton Supplier Special is at Burton Rugby Football Club, on Wednesday 25th March from 9am, with presentations starting at 9.45am.
